Would you recommend an ipod or a zune?

I had an ipod mini, but both mine and my moms had hardware failure. i got a new one, the ne before the touches, and i cracked the screen to the point its unreadable and the battery is also pretty bad now, so im getting a new one. Would you recommend an ipod or a zune? please explain your reasoning. also please include if u know if u can get songs from itunes to zune's software please.
