Can you give me some advice please? ?

Heyy so i'm having a really hard time here. I absolutely love singing. It's a total pion. I would love to puruse a career in singing, and not for the fame. I could care less about fame, but I am willing to take the wonderful with the bad.I'm not fishin for sympathy, but I just keep getting shut down. I don't think my parents think I should pursue singing. They say it's not a real job. I don't think they are trying to be rude. They are just what they say realistic, but it bums me out my own parents don't think I can do it. I just was wondering if I should just go for my dreams or just do what everybody else does in my family... Become a nurse. My video is on youtube Kelsey singing Man in the Mirror if you want to watch it. I just feel like I am capable of anything... But then again I have been kind bummed out. Ha wow I can't believe I wrote so much anyways.. If you think I should pursue a career, what do I need to do to reach that goal. Thanks for listening. I feel a lil better venting :)
