Rules about mobile phones?

at 3/4 time in the north melbourne v west coast game both nic natinui and dean cox were on mobile phones (saying who they were on the phone to at this stage would be speculation and nothing to do with the question). Is there any rules against the use of phones, i have been tryng to think of a precedent but i can't so does anyone know whether there is an official ruling on the use of them?
